A new addition to the UCL Union in 2007, the Entrepreneurs Society aims to aid aspiring entrepreneurs by way of creating opportunities for students to interact with established entrepreneurs and other experts, and discuss topical issues as well as to enable students to have better access to a variety of other resources.
In addition, we also intend to encourage students who are still undecided to explore a varying range of career paths while presenting entrepreneurship as one of the viable options available to them.
In the past academic year, we have brought experienced speakers to UCL to talk about their experiences in entrepreneurship, and also held a joint competition called "The Assignment" with UCL Advances which was a one-day Apprentice-style challenge which helped the University's entrepreneurs to help practice sales, marketing and presentational skills.
Look out for The Assignment!
Get out there and sell. Exciting competition with a chance to win £500!

Hi my name is Daniel Riahi, President of UCL Entrepreneurs for the academic year 2010/2011. I am currently in my second year studying Economics. The main aim, this year for this exciting and rapidly growing society is to spread the buzz of entrepreneurship and the thrill of business to a new level. Allowing UCL to become a hub for the new generation of Richard Bransons!
Just briefly about myself. My personal entrepreneurial experience started from the age of 14, when I started selling children's toys, door to door. A few sales, not forgetting to mention a lot of slammed doors later; I started my own online retail business (Modetra Trading) selling mobile phones, later expanding to perfumes too.
I look forward to getting to know you, and who knows in the coming year, I might shake the hands of the new Richard Branson and the like! Remember this is your society, so please don't hesitate to drop me an email at daniel_uclentrepreneurs.com if you have any questions/ suggestions for UCL Entrepreneurs.
Hi, I'm Zainab, Treasurer of UCL Entrepreneurs Society. I'm currently in my second year, studying Economics and Statistics.
In my role as Treasurer, I will be expected to handle the societys finances; allocating funds for various events and activities, as well as seeking sponsorship and funding. I will also be working closely with the President to ensure we bring you plenty of inspirational talks and events in order to achieve our goal of promoting entrepreneurship.
I've always been passionate about business and entrepreneurship; at school I was Finance Director of a Young Enterprise company called Stylus, a very profitable seasonal events company. As finance director, I learnt many key lessons about budgeting and cost and am looking forward to applying these principles within UCL Entrepreneurs Society.
I have demonstrated my interest in finance and entrepreneurship through various work experience opportunities; most recently at Societe Generale in London as well as Barclay's Capitals Spring Week Program in the Easter break.
I'm really looking forward to the year ahead - feel free to get in touch if you have any ideas or suggestions!

My name is Ashna Yarashi and I am in my second year studying Statistics, Economics and Finance.
I have always believed that a successful entrepreneur brings creativity, imagination and brilliance into a niche in the market to create a new venture or enterprise. I hope to be a successful entrepreneur one day, one who launches a new idea that benefits the society greatly.
My role as the General Secretary is to keep minutes during our meetings and convey these to our members. My aim is to share my business experience with the UCL students and aid them in developing their own ventures.
For more information and any questions, please email me on ashna_uclentrepreneurs.com.
Hi, My name is Serina Patel and I'm currently studying Economics and Statistics, going into my 2nd year. Entrepeneurship is about bringing your ideas to life, keeping us in touch with out inner creative sides.
Our Entrepeneur Society is for all business-minded people who are willing to venture out and achieve greatness. I've successfully ran many showcases and events for charity, where I had to earn sponsorship whilst organising tickets, performances, music and venues. Although this was very challenging it gave me great satisfaction and pride just like the role of an entrepeneur.
As Events Vice President it is my duty to organise speakers, networking events and workshops. I hope to bring you a year filled with interactive and productive events, please do feel free to give me any suggestions on serina_uclentrepreneurs.com even the wackiest ideas are appreciated. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you next year.
My name is Jay and I'm in my 2nd year studying Statistics, Economics and Finance. I am the Director of Marketing and will be working closely with the Events Vice President to bring you events, competitions and networking opportunities. With contacts in the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs we will be looking to put you in contact with the right people to help you not just dream of accomplishments but keep you awake to achieve them.
I am responsible for keeping you informed about all the events that will be taking place within and through the society. I hope to expose you to fun yet rewarding experiences and events that will help to fuel your creativity.
The events are there to help you to build your career as an entrepreneur and to support your ideas, so any suggestions as to what you would like to see would be great. Email me on jay_uclentrepreneurs.com and I look forward seeing all of you next year.
